Legacy Data Migration for US Educational Institutions

Data MigrationETLPlatform OnboardingLegacy Systems

Jungroo AI built a migration pipeline that moves US educational institutions from old DBF-based systems to a modern data platform. It converts legacy formats, runs several migrations safely in parallel, validates data before it reaches production, and logs every step.

The challenge

Institutions moving off legacy DBF-format systems had to bring across large volumes of student records and linked files such as images, without corrupting data or disrupting service during onboarding.

The solution

Jungroo AI built a migration pipeline with five parts:

  • Legacy Format Parsing: Reads DBF and binary files and converts them into a consistent modern schema.
  • Parallel, Isolated Migrations: Several institutions can migrate at once without affecting each other.
  • Validation Before Load: Business rules and error checks catch problems before data reaches production.
  • File Extraction and Linking: Images and documents are pulled from archives and linked to the right records.
  • Migration Logs: Real-time progress and detailed logs for each institution.
